Submitting Entries

Entries for 2018 U.S. National Sake Appraisal are now being accepted. Please read the information below carefully. Entry applications can be submitted by fax, or scanned and submitted as email attachments to entries@sakeappraisal.org.

Important Dates

Submission of entries February 1–March 17, 2018
Sample shipping deadline from U.S. May 11, 2018
Judging June 5–6, 2018
Judging Results Announced June 12, 2018

Judging Categories

• Daiginjo A (Rice Polishing Ratio 40% or less)
• Daiginjo B (Rice Polishing Ratio 50% or less)
• Ginjo (Rice Polishing Ratio 60% or less)
• Junmai (Rice Polishing Ratio 55% or more)

Announcement of Results

Results will be announced on June 12, 2018 (Hawaiʻi time) on this website and notification given to the media.

Certificates and Award Seals

Gold and Silver Award certificates will be mailed after the announcement of the results. Certificates for Grand Prix, Second Grand Prix, Third Grand Prix and Emerald Award will be presented at the award ceremony (date to be announced). Brewers are provided with an electronic file of the U.S. National Sake Appraisal award seal for promotional use upon request and without charge.
